The Inn of Regina Caeli

The Inn of Regina Caeli

The Inn of Regina Caeli is an extended-stay lodging property in Bristol, Texas, about 30 minutes south of downtown Dallas, designed specifically for people with multiple chemical sensitivities (MCS) and environmental illness. The property consists of individual 600-square-foot furnished cottages on 15 acres of rural land and is available for nightly, short-term, and long-term stays. Transportation to medical treatment is also available.

The cottages are built with low-toxin materials throughout, including additive-free concrete slab foundations, porcelain tile flooring, magnesium oxide interior wallboards, spun basalt insulation, and low-VOC mineral and Benjamin Moore Natura paints. Furniture is made of steel, cotton, granite, and unfinished poplar wood. Water is filtered in two stages: a whole-property system removes chlorine, fluoride, chloramines, pesticides, herbicides, and pharmaceutical residues, followed by a four-stage reverse osmosis filter for drinking and cooking water. Heating and cooling is handled by Daikin ductless mini-split heat pumps, positioned away from cottages to reduce noise and EMF. Each cottage is also designed with EMF reduction in mind, featuring microwave shielding against cell tower and Wi-Fi signals via a double Faraday cage, wiring that minimizes dirty electricity, and a direct-coupled copper earthen grounding rod in the bedroom.

Each cottage includes furniture, bedding, towels, cookware, washer and dryer, television, and internet via a wired (not wireless) connection. The surrounding grounds are intentionally kept sparse to deter mold, with a pond and a natural forested area on the property.
