Southern Oregon Integrative Medicine
Southern Oregon Integrative Medicine is a solo practitioner holistic and integrative naturopathic practice in Ashland, Oregon, led by Dr. Tom Messinger, ND, RN. Dr. Messinger is a licensed naturopathic physician and former registered nurse whose practice focuses on identifying the root causes of complex chronic illness. His primary areas of focus include Lyme disease and other tick-borne infections, mold illness, chronic fatigue syndrome (ME/CFS), fibromyalgia, autoimmune conditions, gastrointestinal disorders, thyroid disorders, and persistent chronic symptoms that have not responded to conventional care.
Dr. Messinger evaluates patients for mold exposure, mycotoxins, heavy metals, pesticides, plastics, volatile organic compounds, flame retardants, glyphosate, EMFs, and other environmental toxicants using a detailed Environmental Health Questionnaire and specialty laboratory testing. His philosophy emphasizes reducing total toxic burden while addressing chronic infections, immune dysfunction, detoxification pathways, and other underlying contributors to illness. He also notes that patients with mold illness may develop increased sensitivity to chemicals and other environmental exposures.
Southern Oregon Integrative Medicine offers both in-person and virtual consultations, comprehensive evaluations, conventional and specialty laboratory testing, Autonomic Response Testing (ART), neural therapy, breathwork, Shiatsu, detoxification programs, and individualized treatment plans that may include nutrition, herbs, homeopathy, ozone therapy, and prescription medications when appropriate. Dr. Messinger is a member of the International Lyme and Associated Diseases Society (ILADS) and has completed extensive training in Lyme disease and environmentally acquired illness, including study with Dr. Dietrich Klinghardt and Dr. Neil Nathan.
