Dr. Kelly K. McCann - The Spring Center

The Spring Center is a multi-provider functional, integrative, and environmental medicine practice located in Costa Mesa, California, founded in 2010 by Dr. Kelly K. McCann, MD, MPH & TM. The clinical team includes an MD, a family nurse practitioner (FNP), and a physician assistant (PA-C), placing the practice firmly in the Holistic and Integrative category. The practice describes itself as an application-only, direct care, membership-based model designed to provide personalized, unhurried care for patients with complex and chronic health conditions.

The Spring Center is highly relevant to a non-toxic living audience. Conditions treated include mold exposure and mycotoxin illness, Chronic Inflammatory Response Syndrome (CIRS), environmental toxin exposures, Multiple Chemical Sensitivity (MCS), chemical and fragrance sensitivities, heavy metal toxicity, electromagnetic sensitivity, sick building syndrome, and biotoxin-related illnesses. Founder Dr. McCann has personal experience with the conditions she treats: after battling Lyme disease, mold exposure, and brain fog, she set out to make The Spring Center a home for patients seeking comprehensive, root-cause-focused care in a world overwhelmed by toxicity. The practice’s commitment to this population extends to its physical environment: the office maintains a fragrance-free policy to protect chemically sensitive patients, noting that fragrances contain endocrine-disrupting chemicals, and appointments may be rescheduled or moved to telehealth if fragrance is detected.

Beyond environmental illness, the practice addresses a wide range of complex conditions including Lyme disease and co-infections, mast cell activation syndrome (MCAS), autoimmune conditions, gut health (SIBO, IBS, leaky gut), connective tissue disorders such as Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome, hormonal health, thyroid and adrenal disorders, chronic fatigue and ME, POTS and dysautonomia, MTHFR and methylation issues, long COVID, and neurological conditions including brain fog and neuroinflammation. Services include personalized functional medicine consultations, IV therapy, Low Dose Allergen (LDA) allergy therapy, MicroGenDx DNA-based testing, nutritional counseling, and InBody composition scanning. Virtual visits may be offered when clinically appropriate, though at minimum one in-person visit per year is required to remain an active patient.

Dr. McCann is Board Certified in Internal Medicine, Board Certified in Integrative Medicine by the American Board of Physician Specialties, and certified by the Institute for Functional Medicine. She completed a residential fellowship in integrative medicine at the University of Arizona under Dr. Andrew Weil, and serves on the boards of both the American Academy of Environmental Medicine and the International Society of Environmentally Acquired Illness (ISEAI). She is also a member of ILADS and lectures internationally on mold and mycotoxin illness, Lyme disease, mast cell activation, and environmental medicine. The Spring Center does not accept insurance and is a self-pay direct care practice, though a superbill can be provided for possible reimbursement. Most standard lab work through Quest and LabCorp is covered by insurance. The website does not mention a free discovery call.
