Maryland Holistic Dentist is a multi-provider holistic and biological dental practice located in Burtonsville, Maryland, founded and led by Dr. Gary Adams. The practice also includes Dr. Lady Ung, who has partnered with Dr. Adams since 2020, and Dr. John Battinelli. The practice describes its core principle as recognizing that the mouth and teeth are not disconnected from the rest of the body, viewing the teeth, jaws, and airway as the front door to overall health. The practice describes holistic and biological dentistry as going together, with holistic dentistry focused on the mouth-body connection and biological dentistry focused on working in harmony with the body’s natural healing capacity.
Services include safe amalgam mercury removal, metal-free fillings and crowns, biocompatible zirconia implants, holistic orthodontics including ALF, Schwarz, and Homeoblock appliances, dental PRF (platelet-rich fibrin), ozone and oxygen therapy used in almost every procedure, TMJ and airway treatment, pediatric sleep apnea care, tongue and lip tie evaluation, root canal removal protocols, oral surgery, and full IV sedation dentistry. The practice sees both adults and children.
The practice is accredited by the IAOMT and always uses safe removal of mercury amalgam fillings, pre-selecting materials that are metal-free, safe, and biocompatible, including BPA-free Admira Fusion porcelain filling material, metal-free zirconia crowns, and fluoride-free treatments. Dr. Adams is IAOMT-accredited for SMART amalgam filling removal and trained in the Hal Huggins-Blanche Grube Protocol, while Dr. Ung is also IAOMT certified as a SMART dentist and earned a master’s degree in Complementary and Alternative Medicine from Georgetown University before completing her dental degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry in 2013. Dr. Battinelli has training in the Safe Mercury Amalgam Removal Technique and root canal removal protocols based on Dr. Huggins’ research.
