Safestart IAQ (also referred to as Safestart Environmental) is an indoor air quality company based in the Chicago area, phone number 847-913-9200, and serves clients across the United States and internationally. Their services include in-person indoor air quality assessments, virtual air quality assessments, and mold risk reduction services. Founder Larry Schwartz has conducted over 8,000 indoor air quality investigations across the country in both residential and commercial settings.

Safestart IAQ is deeply embedded in the CIRS and environmentally acquired illness community. Larry Schwartz is a member of the Surviving Mold Roundtable as an Indoor Environmental Professional alongside physicians led by Dr. Ritchie Shoemaker, and was co-author of a peer-reviewed paper titled “How to Perform Medically Sound Investigation and Remediation of Water Damaged Buildings.” He is a Council Certified Indoor Environmental Consultant through the American Council of Certified Accreditation (ACAC), a founding member of ISEAI (International Society for Environmentally Acquired Illness), and a member of IAQA. Onsite investigator Mark Ripley holds IICRC certifications in water and fire restoration, odor removal, and mold remediation, and has direct personal experience supporting clients with CIRS and related sensitivities. COO Michele Fisher was herself diagnosed with CIRS in 2016 and brings firsthand experience to client support.
