The Organic Salon

The Organic Salon is located at 1517 Westport Road in the West Plaza neighborhood of Kansas City, Missouri. Services include haircuts, curly haircuts, color sessions, vivid color, gloss and toning, scalp facials, and curly hair education. The salon also offers a standalone curly education service for clients who want to learn how to style their natural curls, including parents learning to care for a child’s curly hair. Consultations are available as a separate in-person appointment.

The salon’s primary color line is Organic Colour Systems, which is free of ammonia, parabens, resorcinol, and formaldehyde, contains the lowest levels of PPDs, and is made with 95% naturally derived and 60% certified organic ingredients. Organic Colour Systems is a B Corp company and PETA certified. All products carried by the salon are described as cruelty-free, non-toxic, and sustainable, with most being gluten-free and vegan. Additional product lines carried include Innersense Organic Beauty (free of parabens, silicones, sulfates, and synthetic fragrances), Cult + King, Hui Hui Essentials (non-toxic and non-GMO), Rural Route CBD, and Under Luna (100% natural, handcrafted haircare).

The salon describes itself as an inclusive environment that celebrates all hair textures. New clients receive a pre-visit questionnaire to help tailor their experience, and all appointments include a consultation at the start. The Organic Salon is an in-person salon, open by appointment.
