freecoat nails
freecoat nails is a non-toxic nail and beauty bar franchise founded in Charleston, SC in 2017, with locations including Mt. Pleasant, SC and Concord, NC, among others across the country. Services include manicures, pedicures, gel polish, nail extensions, and nail art. Gel nail extensions are made entirely of gel as a safer alternative to acrylics, and a builder gel option is also available. Services are offered in-person only, and appointments are required.
freecoat nails is built around a clean beauty standard across products, equipment, and air quality. Their polishes carry a 6-free or better promise, omitting camphor, dibutyl phthalate, formaldehyde and formaldehyde resin, xylene, triphenyl phosphate, and toluene. Polish lines are also vegan, cruelty-free, and gluten-free. The salon does not offer acrylics, dip powder, or SNS, citing the fumes associated with those services. Pedicure tubs are jet-free, and each location uses a medical-grade air filtration system and custom vented manicure tables to reduce fume exposure. Metal tools are cleaned in medical-grade sanitation equipment, and a new disposable manicure kit is opened for each client.
Each service includes a complimentary house-made organic sugar scrub. Select locations offer nail extensions, infrared sauna sessions, and luxury add-on treatments. Children ages 10 and under can be booked for kid-specific services. Prospective clients with chemical sensitivities are encouraged to check directly with their nearest location regarding specific product lines available, as these may vary by studio.
