HORTŪS New York

Hortus New York is a holistic beauty studio and nail salon located at 210 Forsyth Street in the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The studio offers manicures, pedicures, and gel nail services, including a soft builder gel treatment for strengthening thin or damaged nails. Additional services include sugaring hair removal, facials, skin peels, and LED light therapy. The salon describes itself as organic, mindful, and sustainable, and is cruelty-free.

From a non-toxic standpoint, the salon carries a variety of gels and lacquers, including options that are 10-free or 12-free. Polish removal is done with a soy-based, acetone-free product. Dazzle Dry is available as a polish add-on option. The salon uses only soft soak-off gel polish and explicitly states that it does not use electric nail files (e-files) for removal, meaning no acrylic dust in the air. Hard gel, acrylics, dip powder, and extensions are not offered and cannot be removed on-site. Sugaring services use food-grade materials. Treatment products are described as handcrafted in small batches using organic ingredients.

Walk-ins are welcome,  and reservations can also be made online for groups of up to six. The salon is in-person only, located in New York City.
